Where to Find Your Appliance Model Number
Where to Find Your Appliance Model Number
The appliance model number is the key detail for confirming replacement part compatibility. It is usually printed on the model and serial tag attached to the appliance.
Refrigerators
Check inside the fresh-food compartment, near the side wall, ceiling, door frame, or behind lower drawers. Some tags are near the kick plate or rear panel.
Ranges and ovens
Check around the oven door frame, storage drawer frame, control panel area, or rear rating plate. Gas appliances may have model tags in areas that are easier to see with the drawer removed.
Washers and dryers
Check around the door opening, lid opening, rear panel, or control panel area. Front-load and top-load machines often place the tag in different locations.
Dishwashers
Check the door edge, tub frame, or inner door area. Use the full model number, including letters and suffixes, when confirming part fit.
Do not rely only on a manual number or a partial model number. If you are unsure, send HPUY support a photo of the model tag and the original part.
