How to Confirm an Appliance Part Fits Before Ordering

Before ordering an appliance replacement part, match the part number, appliance model number, and visible connector or mounting details. A small difference in model series, serial range, connector shape, or package quantity can change compatibility.

Check the part number

Look for the number printed on the original part, the appliance parts diagram, or the product label. Some appliance parts have alternate or superseded numbers. A compatible replacement may list several numbers in a “replaces” section.

Check the model number

The model number is usually on the appliance model and serial tag, not on the user manual cover. Compare the full model number, including letters and suffixes, with the compatible model list on the product page.

Compare the details

Review connector shape, dimensions, color, material, and package contents where available. For knobs, racks, sensors, boards, and light modules, photos and specifications can prevent a wrong-part order.

Ask before ordering

If you are unsure, contact HPUY support with your appliance model number, the old part number, and photos of the original part. Always disconnect power before inspecting or replacing appliance parts.
